May Hinder Your Success.
1. Complacency
In your life, there may come a time where you have graduated from high school,
graduated from college, and have went on to work on your career. Through the
many years of learning and through the peak of your career, you begin to feel
a sense of satisfaction. You have learned so much and feel a sense of
accomplishment.
You feel ever so superior. You have a job, your finances are in order, and you
can just go about living life never having to learn anything further, just
perform your job well. It is at this point that complacency has creeped into
your life and you no longer pursue any goals because you think you have
already progressed so much. Complacency is an aspiration and dream killer.
Once you become complacent, life no longer takes on any meaning and because
you are no longer improving yourself, or venturing out into the world, you
slowly die on the inside. This happens to a lot of people including successful
businessmen, actors, and even astronauts. Once you reach a certain level of
success, you should never become complacent. Benjamin Franklin once said “Most
men die at 25, we just don’t bury them until they are 70.” Continue to reach
for more success, and never let your current successes hinder any further
achievements.
2. Impatience
This may be the greatest hindrance in many people’s success and
accomplishments. We tend to begin to look for the shortest path to success and
this can be due to laziness or impatience. Many people are ever so excited
about something and begin to pursue it with tenacity, intensity, and vigor. In
most people, that same intense focus starts to diminish as they begin to look
at how long the process of achieving something might take.
So, they try to cheat or take another path to reach this accomplishment
faster. This is a mistake. That impatience will hinder your success and any
accomplishments you want to achieve because anything worth achieving takes
hard work and patience. The road to success and reaching your full potential
consists of you working day after day with the same enthusiasm and intense
focus. This can be hard as we are creatures of natural impatience, but this is
the true path to success.

3. Letting Others Guide You
Many people constantly look for the approval of others and let other’s
opinions influence their decisions and actions. This is will create a
hindrance in your success as you are constantly guided and blown here and
there by the opinions of others. To reach your full potential and to continue
to reach success, you must find yourself and what you want to do in this life.
If you constantly look for the approval of others in your work and life, you
will never be able to find what ultimately works for you so that you can make
it unique to yourself. You must develop internal standards and a high degree
of independence. You must learn to be your own judge to the value of your work
and life, or you will ultimately let the opinions of others determine your
value.
4. Letting Your Creativity Die
Creativity in your work and life can create an abundance amount of success and
financial stability. Letting your creative spirit flow can help you find more
ways to make money, more ways to connect with people on a deeper level, and
more ways to find success in every area of your life.
So many people let their creativity die because they become accustomed to what
works instead of venturing from the normal. They continuously use strategies
that others have used, or strategies that may have worked for them in the past
that helped them reach a certain level of success. In order to continue your
success, you have to remain creative in your life’s endeavors or you began to
reach a downward spiral clutching and holding on to dead ideas.
5. Receiving Too Much Praise
When you receive a lot of praise for your previous accomplishments, whether it
be in your life or career, you begin to do things that helps you to continue
to receive that same level of praise every time. You begin to crave attention
and you shape your work around your ego and the love for attention, instead of
your brilliance that has let you attain this level of praise.
You lose yourself to your ego. This will hinder your success and any further
accomplishments as you no longer pursue your work or life with the passion
that once drove you, but you pursue it only to get attention. You must look at
praise and public glory as diminishing to your brilliance and learn to take
criticism well in order to help better yourself and your work.
